MFR Claims Processing, Inc. started operations in February 2004, as the Claims Handling entity for the Shook & Fletcher Asbestos Settlement Trust. Since 2005, MFR has also managed the claims review process for the JT Thorpe Successor Trust, Kaiser Aluminum & Chemical NIHL PI Trust, Hercules Chemical Company Inc. Asbestos Settlement Trust, Leslie Controls Inc. Asbestos PI Trust, Motors Liquidation Company Asbestos Trust, Pittsburgh Metals Asbestos Trust, APG Asbestos Trust, Metex Asbestos PI Trust, State Insulation Corporation Asbestos PI Trust, and Owens Corning/Fibreboard Asbestos Trust pre petition claims. MFR employees have extensive backgrounds in claims processing including the Center for Claims Resolution, and “pre-pac” claims processing for four entities.

Brian Rooney
Michael F. Rooney - Mike has over 40 years experience in claims management. He was with Travelers Insurance Co. for 19 years in a variety of positions including Claims Manager of the office responsible for handling asbestos litigation nationwide. He served as Chief Operating Officer (9 years) and Chief Executive Officer (1 year) at the Center for Claims Resolution which represented 21 asbestos defendants with management of settlement negotiation and processing of more than 400,000 claims. Since 2001, Mike has worked for a number of asbestos defendants, negotiating pre packaged bankruptcy settlements and serving as Claims Reviewer. Mike formed MFR Claims Processing in 2004 for review of Trust claims.
John Lake - John has over 30 years experience with claims processing. John joined the MFR team in June of 2008. Prior to MFR, John worked for Pfizer, Inc. where he worked for the unit responsible for managing toxic tort claims. John worked at the Center for Claims Resolution for 10 years. In addition to claims management for bankruptcy pre-petition settlements, John is responsible for the computer systems at MFR, including application and database development.
Brian Rooney - Since 2002 Brian has worked in a number of positions on asbestos claims processing projects involving in excess of 450,000 claims. He has been with MFR since its inception in 2004, with responsibility for operations management, claims review and qualification.
